When it comes to office regeneration and refurbishment some premises are obviously simpler than others.
Designing and developing meeting room areas, or fitting out break out or tea point areas, or even creating more space within an existing office are all relatively straight forward, with minimum disruption to the workplace. However, there are often Specialist Environments where there is a need for specific installations to aid an efficient and safe working environment.
However, there are often Specialist Environments where there is a need for specific installations to aid an efficient and safe working environment.
One such specification that requires a high level of skill and knowledge is Data Centres
Data Centres are extremely high performance buildings that demand low risk design, construction and operation. Data centre construction can include wall, ceiling and floor structures, air conditioning, fire detection and suppression systems.
Any disruption that threatens hardware or irreplaceable information can cause great commercial damage – and a particular threat high on the list is fire and smoke. To reduce this means that building components must be sourced with fire performance to the forefront.
Our brief was to construct a Data Centre which involved installing a 1 hour fire rated partition wall including a fire check door module. The partition and door module had to be constructed to an exact specification as a FM200 fire control system was to be installed. A modern exposed grid suspended system was also installed within the Data Centre.
