Sandcross Primary School in Reigate, Surrey wanted to modernise their Year 5 corridor, raising lighting levels and improve the acoustics in, what was, a gloomy and noisy part of the school. The solution we put forward was to install Ecophon Advantage acoustic ceiling tiles coupled with highly efficient, maintenance free, LED lighting panels.
The overall effect was a light, bright area produced by the 40 watt, 3400 lumen LED panels with greatly enhance acoustics facilitated by the sound absorbent, laid in, ceiling tiles. The cost saving achieved by the installation of the LED lighting panels was also a major consideration when the specification was produced as they are up to 70% more efficient than standard fluorescent fittings and, of course, there is no requirement to constantly change tubes.
